Ukraine. A vessel with a record volume of cargo left Pivdennyi port
The ship Captain Leonidas, which is the largest vessel to enter Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, has left Pivdennyi port.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure.
“A record 195.7 thousand tons were exported from the port of Pivdennyi on one vessel. The Panamanian-flagged Captain Leonidas became the largest vessel among all those that have called at Ukrainian ports since the start of the full-scale invasion,” commented Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov.
The vessel is 300 meters long, 50 meters wide and has a deadweight of over 203 thousand tons.
In total, from August 2023 to the present day, more than 36 million tons of cargo have been exported through the Ukrainian sea corridor. This is more than the Grain Initiative’s performance over the year of its existence.
A total of 1286 vessels have already sailed through the Ukrainian corridor, exporting 25 million tons of agricultural products to Asia, Africa, and Europe. Currently, 135 more vessels are waiting to enter the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi, exporting 4 million tons.
