UkrAgroConsult sees slump in Ukrainian 2022/23 crops, exports

Consultant UkrAgroConsult gave the following projections for Ukraine’s grain and oilseed production in 2022, seen falling sharply from last year due to Russia’s invasion which lowered access to fuel, seed and fertilizers and hampered field work.

In a webinar, the consultant said the projections were averages between the best case and worse case scenarios.

It also gave estimates for grain exports, which have suffered from a halt of shipments out of the Black Sea, Ukraine’s main export route.

Ukraine is one of the world’s largest grain and oilseed exporters, along with Russia.
