Turkey will make every effort to extend the “grain agreement”, – the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Ankara is making every effort to extend the “grain agreement”. Reuters writes about it.
It is noted that the grain initiative launched by the UN and Turkey last July made it possible to export grain from three Ukrainian ports. The agreement was extended in November and is due to expire on March 18.
“We are working hard on the smooth implementation and further extension of the Black Sea Grain Agreement,” Cavusoglu said in his speech at the UN Conference in Qatar.
He added that he had discussed the issue with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
We will remind, on March 1, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy announced that Ukraine is negotiating with the UN and Turkey regarding the continuation of the “Grain Corridor”.
