The Ministry of Defense of Turkey made a statement regarding the government’s desire to restore the grain corridor in the Black Sea without using alternative routes, despite the position of the Russian Federation. This is reported by NTV.

“Despite the suspension of the Agreement on the Black Sea Grain Corridor, the news that today one of the ships that was in the Odesa port of Ukraine left for passage through the strait is true. Has this ship left the port according to the agreement and will pass through the strait?”, the Ministry of Defense of Turkey said.

Sources of the publication in the department drew attention to the fact that thanks to the grain agreement, which proved its success and usefulness, approximately 33 million tons of grain were shipped to countries that need it. The interlocutor assured that Turkey’s efforts are aimed at restoring the grain agreement and that there is no other study, the sources said:

“Other countries are working on alternative routes and routes. We are also following these developments closely. The problem is that merchant ships can safely enter the Turkish straits under conflict conditions. There are no problems with the passage of ships through the straits that reach the Turkish straits,” said the interlocutor of the journalists.

It should be noted that in July the Russian side announced its withdrawal from the grain agreement, citing the alleged non-fulfillment of conditions by the participants.
