Turkey is working to extend the grain deal and is making efforts to increase its term by two years. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“We continue to work on the grain corridor. We are working on its extension after July 17. We want to extend it for at least 3 months. We are waiting for this and will make efforts to extend the agreement for 2 years,” Erdogan said.

He noted that this issue is also being discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the whole world is interested in the continuation of the grain corridor.

“It is important that we start working with our partners so that the life of the grain corridor does not depend on the mood in which the President of Russia wakes up,” Zelensky said.

As a reminder, the grain deal was extended on May 17 for a period of 60 days.
