Turkey hopes to continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative
Turkey hopes to extend the “grain deal” from May 18 and is making every effort in this direction.
According to Anadolu, this was stated by Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar.
Akar reminded that thanks to Turkey’s efforts, the Black Sea Grain Initiative is being implemented, under which the countries have received more than 30 million tons of agricultural products.
“The agreement expires on May 18. We are working to ensure that its implementation continues. The deputy defense ministers of Turkey, Russia and Ukraine have been working with UN observers yesterday and today. We hope that the agreement will be extended, as it is beneficial for everyone,” the minister said.
At the same time, Ankara is negotiating for the safe departure of its ships, which are still waiting in Ukrainian ports, Akar said.
