Turkey held a tender for the sale of durum wheat
On February 1, the Turkish Grain Committee (TMO) held a tender for the sale of 150,000 tons of durum wheat with delivery from February 19 to March 15 at the ports of Mersin, Mersin/Tasuju and Iskenderun. This was reported by Reuters.
Sold 150 thousand tons of durum wheat on FOB basis:
Casillo – 50 thousand tons at $404.80 per ton, port of Iskenderun
Casillo – 25 thousand tons at $364 per ton, port Mersin
AGT – 25 thousand tons at $364 per ton, port of Mersin.
Casillo – 25,000 tons at $354.1 per ton, Mersin/Tashuju port
Intel Grain – 25,000 tons at $361.2 per ton, port of Mersin/Tashuju.
Only non-Turkish companies were allowed to participate in the export tender.
The given volumes and prices reflect traders’ estimates, further clarifications are possible.
Traders said that due to a record durum wheat harvest and large stocks, Turkey has changed its usual role as a durum wheat importer to an exporter.
Turkey has been actively selling durum in the past few months, especially to Mediterranean and Middle Eastern countries. In the world durum wheat market, supply is now limited.
