Tons of wheat arrive in Libya to prob up bakeries
A shipment of about 30.000 tons of wheat arrived in Libya’s Al-Khoms port aboard “Orient Tiger” ship, which was reported as starting to offload ahead of the arrival of another ship bringing 30.000 tons of wheat as well.
Meanwhile, Tripoli port was awaiting a shipment of 8.000 tons of wheat to prob up local bakeries with flour.
Earlier this month, the syndicate of bakers in Libya said the Central Bank didn’t open letters of credit for importing flour since last August, leading to shortages and high prices of bread across the country.
