They threaten to close the “grain deal”: Russia accuses Ukraine of attacking Sevastopol

The Russians found out that the unmanned boats had been launched from the port of Odesa, which was intended for a “grain deal.” After the nighttime explosions, the occupiers began to strengthen the defense of Crimea.

Russia accused Ukraine of attacking the Black Sea Fleet’s base in Sevastopol and threatened to not extend the grain deal. This was reported on April 24 by the Russian Ministry of Defense on Telegram.

The Russians analyzed the route of the unmanned boats and found out that they were launched from the port of Odesa, which was intended for the grain deal.

“Their deployment was carried out in the area of the humanitarian corridor, which is also used to export agricultural products from the ports of Ukraine,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The occupiers called the attacks in Sevastopol “terrorist actions of the Kyiv regime” and threatened to extend the “grain deal” after May 18 this year.

The ministry recalled a similar incident in October 2022, when unmanned boats attacked Black Sea Fleet ships and “civilian vessels that ensure the security of the grain corridor.”

“Russia has suspended the implementation of the agreement on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports. Only thanks to Turkey’s guarantees and Ukraine’s written commitments not to use the humanitarian corridor and Ukrainian ports to conduct hostilities against Russia was this agreement resumed,” the defense ministry concluded.
