Ukrainian exporters have already submitted applications to the Ministry of Economy for licenses to export four crops to the EU under the new rules.

This was announced by Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine.

“We have received a couple of applications, and now we need to organize what is in transit. The system has changed from their decision to ours, and we are now finalizing the details. And we have applications for export: two for Romania and three for Bulgaria, and we are working with them,” Kachka said.

He added that it is possible to apply for export licenses to Poland and Hungary, but there is still a national ban there.

According to Kachka, there is no question of export quotas.

“We will understand the current demand for exports directly to these countries. This demand is not unlimited. We will see what the demand is there, because it all depends on the culture. Four cultures, different market structure, different seasonality. Now someone has questions about sunflower, tomorrow they will have questions about wheat,” says the sales representative.

In addition, Taras Kachka assured that there will be no restrictions on the tonnage per license. The application will take about 30 days to be processed by the Ukrainian side.

As a reminder, the European Commission has finalized the review of Ukraine’s action plan for grain exports without Poland and Hungary.
