The USA provides up to 20 million dollars for the purchase of Ukrainian food within the framework of Grain from Ukraine
The United States, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing up to $20 million to the Grain from Ukraine initiative to help feed people around the world.
The purchase of Ukrainian agricultural products will be carried out within the framework of the #GrainFromUkraine Program initiated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and presented at the G20 summit. It is implemented in partnership with the UN World Food Program (WFP).
Purchased volumes of food will be sent through the “grain corridor” from the ports of Greater Odesa.
Since February 2022, the US has provided more than $11 billion in response to the global food crisis, including nearly $8.6 billion in humanitarian aid. USAID’s humanitarian assistance, including support to WFP, is direct food assistance as well as other assistance including safe drinking water, health care and protection to meet needs exacerbated by the food crisis.
