The United States is discussing with a number of countries the creation of alternative routes for the export of Ukrainian grain in the event that the Russian Federation does not return to the “grain corridor” format.

“Focus” writes about this with reference to The Wall Street Journal.

It is noted that Washington supports the plan, which provides for the ability of Ukraine to transport 4 million tons of grain per month through the Danube already until October.

“One of Washington’s representatives noted that the US is considering all potential options, including military ones, to protect ships heading to and from Ukrainian ports on the Danube. The EU initiative to create road, railway and sea routes is also taken into account,” the message reads.

However, this is only a temporary alternative, as the aforementioned efforts cannot fully replace grain transportation from Black Sea ports, emphasized USAID Assistant Administrator Erin Elizabeth McKee.
