The UN plans to negotiate the inclusion of new ports and cargoes in the Black Sea grain deal
The United Nations wants to negotiate an expansion of the grain deal to include more Ukrainian ports and other cargo. This was reported by a source who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity.
The UN has proposed that Kyiv, Moscow and Ankara start preparatory work for the transit of Russian ammonia through Ukraine. At the beginning of the preparatory work, it is planned to hold talks on expanding the “grain deal”.
Ukraine and Turkey have agreed to the new proposal, but Russia has not yet responded.
“As you remember, the Secretary General put forward some ideas to the parties to improve the work of the Joint Coordination Center, as well as to work on the issue of ammonia exports, which is part of the agreement that was signed. Negotiations and contacts are ongoing. But that’s all I can say right now,” said UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric at a briefing.
