The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) is ready to help the European Union get rid of the surplus of Ukrainian grain that is destroying Eastern European markets and deliver it to the countries that need it most.

This was stated by Martin Frick, Director of the WFP Global Office in Brussels and Berlin, Politico reports.

“Getting grain to some of the world’s poorest people is crucial in this global food crisis. We transport grain from Ukraine through the Black Sea and stand ready to work with the European Commission and member states to find a solution,” Frick said.

He noted that WFP has experience in dealing with the complex logistics of moving large volumes to countries in need.

Further development of the Black Sea and global grain and oilseeds markets will be discussed by UkrAgroConsult analysts and leading agribusiness operators at the EURO GRAIN HUB Exchange & Forum on April 26-28 in Bucharest, Romania.  Join the key stakeholders from the Black Sea region, Central & Eastern Europe and Balkans, contributing to the global commodity supply chain.
