Polish protesters tried to block the railroad access roads to the terminals at the Yagodyn-Dorogusk and Izov-Hrubeshiv border crossings to stop the supply of goods from Ukraine by rail.

Valeriy Tkachev, deputy director of Ukrzaliznytsia’s commercial work department, said this on Telegram.

“In Poland, there were attempts to block the transfer of goods by rail at the Dorohusk-Yagodyn and Hrubieszów-Izov crossings (blocking the sidings of individual terminals). Polish law enforcement responded accordingly to such attempts. Currently, nothing is preventing the transfer of goods,” Tkachev wrote.

At the same time, he noted that the risk of recurrence of such incidents remains.

As reported, earlier Ukrzaliznytsia confirmed that on February 18, protesters blocked the movement of the passenger train #119 Kyiv-Helm, which was carrying 260 passengers.

What is known about the blockade of the border with Poland?

According to the Customs Service of Ukraine, the day before, Polish farmers completely blocked truck traffic in both directions at the Dorohusk-Yagodyn international checkpoint and tried to prevent train traffic.

As a reminder, on February 9, Polish farmers began a blockade of three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, and on February 12, the protests spread to two more checkpoints. On Tuesday, February 13, five border crossing points between Ukraine and Poland were blocked.
