Since its launch in September, the temporary corridor in the Black Sea, whose security is ensured by the Ukrainian Navy, has transported almost 9 million tons of cargo, of which almost 70% is agricultural products. This was stated by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, at a meeting with heads of diplomatic missions and the public.

“The dynamics are very positive, and we hope that we will be able to maintain this level,” Kubrakov emphasized.

He also spoke about the expected economic effect of the operation of the ports of Chornomorsk, Odesa and Pivdennyi in 2024.

“We understand that the effect of the resumption of these ports’ operations could be up to 8% of GDP next year. This is because our main industries – metallurgy and agriculture – are not operating at full capacity compared to the figures that were before the large-scale war,” Kubrakov said.
