The ship damaged by a Russian missile in Pivdennyi port sails
The Kmax Ruler, which was hit by a Russian missile in Pivdennyi port on November 8, has started its voyage. The shipowner did not request compensation from the war risk insurance fund.
Yuriy Vaskov, Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, said this at the Infrastructure Day 2023 organized by the European Business Association in Kyiv on Friday.
“The ship left Ukrainian territorial waters and is now somewhere in Romania or Bulgarian waters. It’s loaded and on a voyage,” Vaskov said.
He clarified that the shipowners did not apply for compensation to the war risk fund, which has been in place in Ukraine since 2023. The vessel had a classic insurance package covering military risks.
As a reminder, on November 8, Russians fired an X-31P anti-radar missile in the direction of one of the ports of Odesa region from tactical aircraft in the Black Sea. The attack damaged a ship and killed a pilot.
