The regions with the highest soybean yield in Ukraine in the season 2023

Ukraine’s soybean harvest has been completed from 100% of the area as of December 28. Farmers harvested 4.77 million tons of the crop from 1.8 million hectares. The average yield of the crop was 2.65 t/ha (2022: 2.43 t/ha), the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.

The largest soybean areas were planted in Poltava region – 212.1 thsd ha, up 56% compared to 2022.

Top 5 regions of Ukraine by the average soybean yield:

  • Ivano-Frankivsk – 3.48 t/ha;
  • Ternopil – 3 t/ha;
  • Lviv – 2.98 t/ha;
  • Poltava – 2.88 t/ha;
  • Sumy – 2.8 t/ha.

The oilseeds area will increase in the 2024 season. In particular, TAS Agro and Epicenter Agro announced plans to increase the share of oilseeds in the crop rotation structure.

In the season 2023, the soybean area in Ukraine increased by 18% compared to the previous season.
