The number of inspections of ships with grain in Turkey is not decreasing – spokeswoman of the UN

From the start of the grain corridor from August 1 to September 5, teams of the Joint Coordination Center (JCC) conducted a total of 582 vessel inspections. On average, there were 7.5 inspections per day. And since September 1, the average number of reviews has increased to 10.5 reviews/day.

This was told by the spokeswoman of the UN Black Sea Grain Initiative, Ismini Palla, in an interview with Latifundist.com.

As the spokeswoman noted, two inspection groups worked in August, and now four are operating on a regular basis. Five groups are engaged in periodic reviews. On October 6, the JCC sent four inspection groups.

“Recently there has been no decrease in inspections, last week’s data (September 29 to October 5) shows an average of 12 inspections per day (12, 14, 14, 11, 12, 10, 11),” says Ismini Palla.

The spokeswoman also noted that there are no known plans of any JCC delegation to reduce their permanent inspection capabilities.

“The JCC is constantly discussing in its plenary meetings proposals to increase the current inspection capacity of all delegations and improve the inspection readiness of vessels to meet the growing demand and reduce congestion,” says Ismini Palla.

For reference: in the Sea of ​​Marmara there is a traffic jam with more than 40 ships that are supposed to go along the “grain corridor” to the Black Sea ports. As the media noted, the Russian Federation is going to reduce the number of inspections of ships with Ukrainian grain in Istanbul to 12 per day.
