The World Food Program has significantly expanded its cooperation with Ukrainian agro-processors – during the full-scale war, the volume of humanitarian products from Ukrainian producers amounted to the equivalent of half a billion dollars, said WFP Ukraine Food Systems and Resilience Specialist Michela Carucci during a roundtable discussion dedicated to agro-processing.

“We are considering promoting not only grain exports under the Grain from Ukraine program, but also opening other areas for the supply of vegetable oils, canned meat and beans to countries that need them,” Carucci said.

According to her, these products are still either being registered as suppliers or are undergoing trial periods and completing testing.

  • The first batch of flour made from Ukrainian wheat under Grain from Ukraine was delivered to Sudan in late February.
  • At the end of March, the MV Future ID vessel arrived in Sudan with 14.6 thousand tons of flour milled from Ukrainian wheat. This was the second shipment of humanitarian aid under the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
