In January-August 2022, Ukrainian ports on the Danube (Reni, Izmail, Kilia) handled 3.4 million tons of grain.
This is stated in the message of Odesa OVA.
“The war created opportunities for the growth of transshipment in three ports at the mouth of the Danube – Izmail, Reni and Ust-Dauna. For a certain period, these were the only three ports out of 13 that were able to work fully. In peacetime, they accounted for a little less than 5% of exports,” noted the head of Odesa OVA Maksym Marchenko.
He specified that cargo processing through the Danube ports increased more than 2.6 times, in particular, exports increased by 3.2 times.
