The European Commission has taken the first step to extend the duty-free regime for Ukraine
The European Commission has approved an official proposal to extend Ukraine’s autonomous trade measures for another year.
First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on Facebook.
“This is the first official step to extend the duty-free regime. In the future, this issue will be considered by the EU Council, and yesterday we discussed it with the permanent representatives of the EU member states,” she said.
Yulia Svyrydenko added that during the meeting with representatives of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Trade, other steps to strengthen trade ties between Ukraine and the EU were also discussed, which is especially important in the context of integration into the European Union.
