The EU is considering allocating €1 billion to Ukraine to buy grain from farmers
The European Union is considering providing Ukraine with up to €1 billion to buy grain from farmers. This was stated by Dmytro Solomchuk, MP, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, during a briefing.
“We are waiting for the European Union’s decision to allocate a fairly large amount of money to buy back some of the Ukrainian grain from Ukrainian farmers so that they have funds for the sowing season and payments for shares. Today we are talking about €1 billion. We will see what decision they make. But it is very important that the state buys the harvest with European funds,” he said.
Solomchuk emphasized that such support will allow Ukrainian farmers to get funds for further work.
