The Ukrainian grain corridor has demonstrated the ability to receive/release 8 vessels per day.

This was reported by Andriy Klymenko, Head of the Monitoring Group of the Black Sea Institute for Strategic Studies, editor-in-chief of BlackSeaNews, on Facebook.

He noted that on October 1, 8 vessels were off the coast of Odesa region at once: 3 vessels left the ports of Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk early in the morning, fully loaded; 5 vessels arrived at the ports of Greater Odesa for loading.

Why is the number of 5 vessels per day important? Because it was 5 vessels per day that arrived at the ports of Greater Odesa in September-October 2022, during the more or less normal operation of the grain corridor with the participation of Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia.

He added that in this way Ukraine has demonstrated its ability to independently provide a safe route for the same number of ships per day as it was during the operation of the grain corridor under the auspices of the UN.

The expert also clarified that the total deadweight of vessels that left Odesa ports is 134.2 thousand tons, while the number of arrivals is 126.4 thousand tons.
