Soybeans November 2020.
At Wednesday’s closing bell front month soybean futures were down by 3 1/2 to 5 3/4 cents. The national average soybean basis from cmdtyView was 56.67 cents under Nov on 9/23. Compared to last year, that is 25 c/bu stronger. Meal futures maintained their rally, closing the midweek session with gains of $2.7 to $4.8/ton. Bean oil futures fell back another 80 to 98 points on the day. Market continues to discuss the fact that China is still booking for Nov/Dec/Jan slots. USDA announced 132,000 MT of beans sold to China and 126,000 MT sold to unknown, however, the focus will be shifted to the Brazil origin very soon. Weather stays the key issue for Brazil now, so if the weather will be favorable, we are estimating record/near record crop for Brazil. Back to US, Weather across the Midwest continues to be ideal- harvest will move along very nicely and yields can fully surprise the market. Products continue to move along nicely, crush continues to rally and remains at 95 cents right now, oil share remains 33%, this down from 36% at the start of the month. Palm oil continues to leak lower and this being an influence on bean oil as well- both charts are nearing a complete roll over. Meal continues to hold its value pretty well, solid support right now at 333, but we are near a point where continued bullish news are required to sustain the trend, not even talking about new highs.
