SSUFSCP head Magaletska prioritized export markets for Ukraine
Hub countries and economic regional organizations are Ukraine’s key priorities in establishing and developing trade relations, the head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (SSUFSCP) Vladyslava Magaletska writes in her column on EPravda.
“China, MENA, Sub-Saharan African and South American countries are the regions where we will make particular efforts. And of course, we will not weaken our commitment to advance partnerships established in the EU, which has long become a traditional market for Ukraine,” she comments.
The organization focuses on opening new markets in hub countries, in ASEAN.
In 2020, exports of agricultural products to the countries of the organization amounted to almost USD 1.2 bln, and in 9 months of 2021 – USD 970 mln. Grain is the core export commodity.
“Though, Ukraine exports more and more vegetables, dairy products, meat, eggs to this region, not to mention fats and oils,” Vladyslava Magaletska marks.
Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy and the SSUFSCP are in the process of gaining access for Ukrainian producers to 12 new markets in the region: meat, eggs, milk, feed, and fish. In particular, officials are seeking to reduce the number of notifications in the grain trade.
Earlier the SSUFSCP reported 21 markets open and re-open for Ukrainian agri-food commodities.
