Soybean planting in the U.S. is almost 80% complete

By June 2, U.S. farmers had sown soybeans on the area of 78% of the plan, according to the data of the next weekly cropping tour of USDA experts. The materials note that field work is behind the pace of last year (89%), but exceeds the average for the last five years (73%).

In addition, sunflower sowing continues in the country, 38% of the plan has already been sown (+20 p.p. for the week, +1 p.p. against the same period last year).

As for spring wheat sowing, by the reporting date 94% of the planned areas were sown against 91% last year and 90% on average for the last 5 years.

At the same time, the pace of corn sowing in the USA is slower than last year – 91% of the area was sown against 95% a year earlier. At the same time, this figure is slightly above the annual average (89%).
