Excess moisture is hampering field work in France.

According to the state agency FranceAgriMer, by November 6, French farmers were able to sow winter soft wheat only 67% of the area (91% on the same date last year and 83% on average over the past five years). Winter barley has been sown on 81% of the area (96% and 91%). But the most severe lag is in durum wheat. By November 6, it has been sown on only 15% of the plan (46% and 34%). Delayed sowing can lead to a significant reduction in yields.

Corn has been harvested on 95% of the acreage. Last year corn harvesting was completed by early November.
