During his first trip outside Bratislava after the assassination attempt, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Slovakia is not ready to lift the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine.

This was reported by Sky News.

Fico, together with Slovak Agriculture Minister Richard Takacs, visited a farm in the village of Slovenská Nova Ves to check the grain harvest.

During the visit, Fico said in a brief statement that Slovakia was not ready to lift the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine and thanked the farmers for their work.

As a reminder, on September 15, 2023, the European Commission refused to extend the temporary ban on imports of Ukrainian wheat, corn, sunflower seeds and rapeseed to five EU countries neighboring Ukraine. At the same time, Ukraine agreed to introduce an export licensing system to avoid sharp jumps in grain exports to these countries.

However, Slovakia extended its previous EU ban on imports of four types of grain, Poland imposed additional bans on Ukrainian flour and feed, and Hungary banned 25 more products that had not been previously discussed, including meat.
