Slovakia has canceled its unilateral ban on imports of agricultural goods from Ukraine. The country has replaced it with a corresponding decision of the European Commission.

According to TASR, the decision was made by the government of the country.

According to the government’s decision, in addition to lifting the unilateral ban on imports, a special regime for the transit of agricultural products through Slovakia is also being introduced.

“Only the legislation of the European Union applies in this area (grain imports – ed.),” said Andrey Walner, a representative of the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture.

It is worth noting that the European Commission’s decision bans imports of Ukrainian wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds to Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia until June 5.

As a reminder, the European Commission banned imports of the above agricultural products from Ukraine on May 2.
