Slovakia will extend the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine. In addition to grains, the ban will also apply to imports of honey, sugar, malt, and soybeans, Novinky.cz reports.

The Slovak government, headed by Prime Minister Robert Fico, has decided to extend the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine and tighten transit rules.

“In addition to wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds, the ban will be extended to imports of honey, sugar, malt and soybeans. According to the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture Richard Takacs, the transit of all other agricultural products and food from Ukraine will be subject to a customs ban. This means that the cargo will be sealed at customs,” the newspaper writes.

In its proposal, the Ministry of Agriculture noted that the measures are necessary, including due to the lack of a pan-European solution for Ukrainian goods.

To recap, Slovakia’s Defense Minister confirmed to the NATO Secretary General the refusal to provide Ukraine with weapons. According to him, this decision is respected by Slovakia’s foreign partners. According to Kaliniak, despite this, his country offers a wide range of humanitarian, civilian, and non-lethal technical assistance. And foreign partners respect the decision of the new government.
