North Macedonia’s agriculture ministry said on Tuesday that Serbia will resume exports of wheat, maize, flour and edible oil to its southern neighbour.

Earlier this month, Serbia temporarily banned exports of vegetable oil, maize, wheat, and flour in an effort to ensure stable prices. However, president Aleksandar Vucic later said that the country will consider exempting limited amounts of wheat and maize from the export ban.

Serbia will resume exports of these basic foodstuffs to North Macedonia in the following seven to ten days, the agriculture ministry said in a statement.

Last year, North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia signed Memoranda of Understanding to establish a free economic zone of the three countries which have about 12 million citizens in total.
