Season results: exports of wheat and barley from Ukraine almost reached 21 mln tons

The exports of grains and pulses from Ukraine in 2023/24 MY as of June 30 exceeded 50.8 mln tons. This is up 1.6 mln tonnes (3%) compared to the same period last season.

This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service, published by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Thus, 18.4 mln tons of wheat were shipped this season, which ended in June, which is 1.5 mln tons or 9% more than last year. Barley supplies to foreign markets amounted to 2.5 mln tons, which is 8% less than last year. Rye was shipped in the amount of 1.6 thsd tons (-91%). In other words, the total exports of these grains amounted to about 20.9 mln tons.

Ukraine exported 29.4 mln tons of corn, which is 160 thsd tonnes more than the same date last season.

Ukraine exported 98.2 thsd tonnes of flour, which is 56 thsd tonnes or 36% less than last year.

For reference: in 2022/23 MY, the exports of grains and pulses totaled 49 mln tonnes: wheat – 16.8 mln tonnes, barley – 2.7 mln tonnes, rye – 18 thsd tonnes, corn – 29.1 mln tonnes, flour – 153.6 thsd tonnes.
