In December 2020, due to high release prices in the domestic sunflower oil market and retail trade, Russian producers and retail networks signed an agreement envisaging a cut in producer price (for deliveries to retail networks) to RUB 95/kg (including VAT) and limiting retail price to RUB 110/kg. The agreement expires on April 1, 2021.
In addition, in case this agreement is broken, the government had reportedly to consider in December the imposition of a sunoil export tariff at a rate of 15%, but no less than EUR 135/MT.
This news supported the world market of sunflower oil then. Uncertainty remains in this issue now despite statements about keeping prices at the declared level.
The current situation features further growth in domestic sunseed prices along with high export prices of sunflower oil, UkrAgroConsult reports.
