Russia increased barley shipments by 44% y-o-y
Almost 225 KMT of Russian barley was exported in January (-59% from December, -52% from January 2019/20). Exports since the beginning of the season totaled 4.08 MMT (+44% y-o-y), UkrAgroConsult reports.
The January list of buyers was topped by Iran, though its export share this season fell to 13%. Russia did not export barley to Saudi Arabia in January.
Exports to the following destinations increased from the same time last season: Saudi Arabia (almost doubled), Jordan (tripled), Israel (up almost fourfold), Tunisia (eightfold).
Last season’s key importers slashed purchases: Iran, Libya and Turkey.
