Romania will create 5 anchorages for transshipment of Ukrainian grain in the port of Constanta.

“The UGA initiated the creation of anchorages in Romanian territorial waters for transshipment of Ukrainian grain from barges to large-capacity vessels, which significantly reduces the cost of logistics and will contribute to the development of an efficient route,” the statement said.

It is also noted that the UGA worked with the government, ministries and other central authorities to create favorable conditions for the development of port infrastructure on the Danube, as well as to improve the efficiency and reduce the cost of logistics to the Danube ports, in particular, to reduce the cost of rail transport for Ukrainian grain through Moldova, to transfer the Sulin Canal in Romania to a round-the-clock operation, etc.

“As a result, exports through the Danube ports have increased from 40 thousand tons to 4 million tons per month since the full-scale invasion. All these steps will allow to increase the volume of grain exports from Ukraine through the Danube at the level of 30-35 mln tons per year,” the association added.

Earlier it was reported that the Romanian government has finally approved a compromise permit system for imports of certain groups of Ukrainian agricultural products, which aims to protect Romanian farmers.
