Romania to increase transit of Ukrainian grain through the Danube corridor

Romania will continue to increase the volume of Ukrainian grain transiting the Danube corridor. This was stated by Romanian Foreign Minister Luminica Odobescu.

It is noted that during a trilateral meeting in Chisinau, representatives of Ukraine, Moldova and Romania, among other things, discussed strengthening “the paths of solidarity, which is extremely important now to support Ukraine’s resilience and vital in the future recovery process.”

“Romania will continue its efforts to increase the volume of grain transiting the Danube corridor by increasing transport capacity and better utilizing, adapting and modernizing the infrastructure that supports this activity,” the Foreign Minister said.

According to her, today about 68% of Ukraine’s grain and agricultural exports go through Romania.

Odobescu noted that Romania strongly supports the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

“The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are becoming part of a European project, the only option that can provide their citizens with the security, peace, and prosperity they seek and deserve,” the minister assured.
