Romania. The situation in the south and southeast remains difficult for planting

Weather conditions. Air temperatures in Romania were within +17..+27°C, i.e. 2..4°C above long-term normal levels.

Moisture supply. Precipitation only occurred in western, central and southwestern parts of the country (15-25 mm), where soil moisture is at a fair level. In the rest of Romania, high air temperatures aggravated soil drought.

Weather forecast for August 17-23: increased air temperatures (2..4°C above normal) will persist in the country, with 35-80 mm of precipitation expected in the west and north. The situation in the south and southeast remains difficult for planting.

Farmers continue harvesting sunflower, whose yield in eastern Romania is far below expectations. Therefore, UkrAgroConsult may cut its crop forecast in next reports.
