Romania remains the second largest soft wheat exporter to non-EU destinations
According to the data of European Commission, in 2019/20 MY Romania increased wheat exports to non-EU destinations (July, 01 2019 – June, 28 2020) by 42% against the same period of 2018/19, UkrAgroConsult reports.
The reason for higher exports to non-EU destinations was low demand from EU countries due to the rebound in own wheat production.
Key export destinations of Romanian wheat among the non-EU buyers were Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Philippines and Thailand.
Same as in 2018/19 MY Romania is the second most important exporter of soft wheat among the EU countries, following France, with a 16% share.
