Record season for Ukrainian wheat is drawing to a close

Since the beginning of the season, Ukrainian wheat exports had totaled 20.3 MMT. This is up 35% year-on-year, UkrAgroConsult reports.

1.2 MMT was exported in May (-1% from April and +44% from May 2018/19).

The largest volume was shipped to Bangladesh, the country’s share in July-May 2019/20 equals 11%.

Traditionally, the most active buyers in May still included Indonesia and Egypt.

The fastest increase is in demand from Turkey and Yemen – up almost four times from the same time last year.

A drop is seen in exports to the following destinations: Morocco: -45%, the EU: -37%, the Philippines: -33%, Thailand: -26%.
