Putin to Erdogan: We are ready to talk about the grain deal, but we will resume after the conditions are met
Russia is ready to negotiate a “grain deal”. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with Turkish leader Recep Erdogan, Reuters reports.
“I know that you want to raise the issue of the ‘grain deal’ today. We are open to negotiations on this issue,” Putin said.
According to Erdogan, the world is waiting for the results of this meeting.
“I believe that the announcement at the press conference after the meeting will be an important step for the whole world, especially for African countries,” Erdogan added.
After the talks, Turkish President Recep Erdogan said that the Black Sea Grain Initiative could soon be resumed, Reuters reports.
“We believe that we will reach a solution that meets expectations in a short time,” he said.
At the same time, Putin said that the West still restricts Russian agricultural exports.
“We will be ready to consider the possibility of resuming the grain deal, and I told Mr. President about it again today – we will do it as soon as all agreements on lifting restrictions on the export of Russian agricultural products are fully implemented,” he said.
