The spring sowing campaign 2023 has started in Ukraine

Agrarians in Odesa region have started the 2023 sowing season despite missile attacks and air raids. This is stated in the report of the Department of Agricultural Development of the Odesa Regional State Administration.

“The first to go to the field were the workers of the farm “Stoyanov A.A.” of Izmail district. As of today, 120 hectares of peas have been sown,” the report says.

The region is expected to sow 726.5 thou hectares, of which early grains and pulses will occupy 68.5 thou hectares, cereals – 7.2 thou hectares, corn – 150 thou hectares, sunflower – 410 thou hectares, soybeans – 6.5 thou hectares, oil flax – 15 thou hectares, potatoes and vegetable and melons – 37.0 thou hectares.
