The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to a poster calling on Putin to “restore order” that appeared at a rally of Polish farmers.

According to the Foreign Ministry’s website, such things discredit the strikers and the idea of protest.

“Such actions put Poland, the country that first helped the attacker of Ukraine, and the Poles who took in Ukrainian refugees, in a bad light. It is important to note that they also discredit the organizers of the protest. We believe that this is an attempt to hijack the agricultural protest movement by extreme and irresponsible groups, possibly under the influence of Russian agents,” the Polish ministry said.

The Foreign Ministry called on the organizers of the protests to identify and remove from their movement those initiators who commit such and similar attacks. “The current situation of Polish farmers is a consequence of Vladimir Putin’s aggression against Ukraine and the destruction of the global economy, and not because Ukrainians are defending themselves against aggression,” the ministry emphasized.

Details of the incident

  • One of the posters of the Polish strikers read “Putin, put things in order in Ukraine, in Brussels, and with our government officials.” Next to it was a flag of the USSR.
  • The Polish police reacted to this. A criminal case was opened against the man who put up the poster for inciting and praising Putin’s war of aggression.
