Polish agriculture to get biggest ever funds from EU

In its next seven-year budget, the European Union will earmark EUR 33.5 bln for Polish agriculture, the biggest funds Polish farmers have ever received from the EU, Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Tuesday at an election rally in Augustów, north-eastern Poland.
The president, who is running for re-election in this coming Sunday's ballot, assured the residents of Augustów that the EU money will be delivered.
"The next budget perspective will offer the biggest ever money for Polish agriculture as, right now, the European Commission says that there will be EUR 33.5 bln to spend on Polish agriculture over the next seven-year perspective, in 2021-27," Duda said.
The EU has not yet agreed on the exact size and shape of its next multi-annual budget, which will be significantly dented due to the departure of one of its key contributors, the United Kingdom.
