The polarization of trade between Russia and Ukraine on foreign markets is inevitable, said Natalia Levkoniuk, broker at Atria Brokers, during her speech at Maritime Days in Odesa.

“Starting July 1, 2024, the EU will introduce prohibitive duties of approximately €95/t on imports of certain goods from Belarus and Russia, namely sunflower, wheat, corn, dry peas and feed. That is, we see further polarization of trade, when Ukrainian grain will be counted more for Europe, and Russian grain – for the Middle East and Asian countries,” she said.

According to Levkoniuk, Ukraine should continue to export to the EU, but the demand for Ukrainian grain there may decline slightly due to the increase in harvest in Spain and Italy.
