Licenses for the export of major agricultural crops from Ukraine to Poland, which were introduced by the Ukrainian government, will now be issued only with the approval of the Polish side. This was announced on March 28 by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

“Today, Ukrainian grain does not enter the Polish market. Our government has introduced a verification procedure for four crops – corn, rapeseed, sunseed and wheat. Without a license, these categories cannot be exported. We are not issuing such documents or permits at the moment. We will issue them only upon joint agreement with the Polish government,” said Denys Shmyhal.

He also noted that Ukraine and Poland have made progress in unblocking the common border and it is important to maintain the existing positive dynamics.

“We have definitely made progress in lifting the blockade, but most importantly in resolving all the critical issues that lead to all blockades,” he emphasized.
