Ukraine is firm in its demands that the EU should lift restrictions on Ukrainian agricultural exports, and its official position is that Brussels should come to an agreement with Poland. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna at the conference “What does Ukraine’s path to the EU look like”, writes Evropeyska Pravda.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine will continue to insist on the abolition of restrictions on the import of agricultural products, and her position coincides with the aspirations of Brussels. Olha Stefanishyna emphasized that negotiations between the European Commission and EU member states should be held to resolve this issue. She noted that the European Union has tools that allow to help Poland, as well as other states.

“We know that the European Commission has no intention of extending the restrictions after they expire on September 15. Yes, there are intentions to unilaterally introduce restrictions on the part of several countries, but this will be a violation of the basic rules of the European Union. And we hope that some way will be found. This crisis is inspired by several EU countries – the main one being Poland. But Poland tripled the receipt of the European budget to support the relevant sectors. Ukraine did not receive additional funds,” said Olga Stefanishyna.
