Norway increased demand for food and agricultural products from Ukraine
The trade statistics for the first half of 2023 show a significant 26% increase in the trading of goods. An important and notable trend is the substantial 31% increase in Norwegian imports from Ukraine. This growth has been primarily fueled by the increasing demand for food and agricultural products, which are being used in feed production. Other sectors like manufacturing, machinery, furniture, and clothing have maintained a steady and consistent level of trade.
On the other side, Norwegian exports to Ukraine have increased by 25%. This growth has been particularly strong, with an impressive 18% surge in the volume of traded seafood. Notably, the value of seafood trade has risen by 25%, primarily due to elevated prices.
