Two of the three ports participating in the “grain deal” have not received a single vessel since the beginning of June 2023. This was reported by Andriy Klymenko, Head of the Monitoring Group of the Black Sea Institute for Strategic Studies, editor-in-chief of BlackSeaNews, on Facebook.

“Since June 1, 2023, three vessels have arrived at the port of Chornomorsk, none at the port of Odesa, and none at the port of Pivdennyi (as promised by Russia). Today, on June 5, 2023, it looks like there may be one ship arriving in Chornomorsk, though it has been waiting at the port since June 3, 2023,” he added.

The expert also noted that no ships have been recorded (so far) leaving the Bosphorus in the direction of Odesa ports. There may not be any tomorrow either.

“It looks like Russia is trying to get to know the members of the new Turkish government. So, the situation is such that it is time to decide together with Turkey and Romania how to ensure the functioning and safety of ships sailing to Ukrainian ports for grain without the participation of Russia,” says Andriy Klymenko.
