More than half of the corn crop has been harvested in the U.S.

By October 22, the corn harvest in the United States was harvested from 59% of areas (59% on the same date last year and 54% on average over the past five years), according to the report of the National Agricultural Statistics Service under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (NASS USDA).

The USDA forecasts that this season’s gross corn harvest will rise to 382.7 million tons, up 10% from last season and 6% above the five-year average.

Harvesting of soybeans by October 22 has been completed on 76% of areas (78% on the same date last year and 67% on average for the last five years).

Winter wheat was sown 77% (78% and 78%) of the plan. Sprouts appeared on 53% (47% and 53%) of areas.
